HISTORY

– A year after his older brother, Thor, gets sorted into Gryffindor, the Sorting Hat is placed on Loki's head and sorts him into Slytherin
– Thor is distraught that he and his brother will be separated, but no one else who knows Loki is surprised by the outcome
– As expected, Loki thrives in Slytherin, though he is slow to make friends of his own
– He learns many of the castle's secrets within his first year, such as its secret passageways, and eventually finds the Room of Requirement (in his third year)
– He's adopted, though he doesn't find out until the summer of fifth year; his father is Laufey, a giant, and Loki himself is half-giant and the runt of his family
– Once he finds out about his true parentage he goes off the deep-end and becomes increasingly obsessed with power and dark magic, eventually joining the Death Eaters
